Getting to Baja California from France?

• By Air in regular lines:
- From Paris CDG Via Mexico City with Aeromexico and Air France airlines
- From Paris CDG via Dallas / Houston / Los Angeles San Diego / Phoenix with American Airlines. Arrivals at the airports of Los Cabos / La Paz / Loreto / Tijuana

Lodging :

Hotels: Comfortable 300euros/ 20 pesos

Most rooms are comfortable, single, with shower, clean.
A fan or air conditioning (noisy) below 300 pesos is the category
"Average" minimum comfort. Price for low season.

How to get around the peninsula?

Car renting in all major cities and airports. Hertz / Budget / National / Thrifty / Alamo.

Ordinary restaurants and street vendors of delicious tacos are even cheaper ...

Money / Budget:

The Mexican Peso is the official currency. However, the U.S. dollar (USD) is accepted almost everywhere.

50 euros for a comfortable journey
The hotel and transportation represent the big part ot the budget.

Formalities

No special formalities for nationals of the European Union, Switzerland or Canada.
Only a valid passport is required. Visa for a period exceeding three months.
Vaccines / Health
No vaccinations are required for this region of Mexico. It is recommended not to drink tap water.:
There are pharmacies everywhere, but be careful with hot ... corny venom suction advised.

• Mail: Mail Mexican has a reputation for being rather slow.
There are only stamps in post offices.

Tipping

Generally, it is customary to leave a tip equivalent to 15% of the bill in restaurants.

The outlets are the same as in the U.S. (two flat prongs). Voltage: 110/140 Volts

Religion

The Catholic Religion is everywhere in Baja California to the rest of Mexico.

Language

Spanish is the official language, but by the majority of the population understands and speaks English.

Warnings

• On the road:
The herds are often released along roads. Be extremely careful at nightfall. In addition, roads are not always in good
condition (potholes, ruts ...).

• Service Stations: Make sure to fill up quite often because the gas stations are rare in Baja California.
• Beware of snakes!
• Heat: It is important to drink a lot because the heat and the air very dry in the desert.
Also make sure to have an adequate supply of water if necessary.

When to travel?

Throughout the year the Baja California's climate is quite pleasant, generally warm, with little wind "fees" in winter, and
sometimes chilly evenings (in the desert), and very little rain.
Generally the northern part is cooler with more rain in winter, and the south ern part is warmer with more rain in summer.

It is possible to travel to Baja California all year long, however, in August and September walkers need a great capacity to
adaptat to extreme heat.
During these two months, we can avoid some walking and hiking and replace them with water sports.
